About the Church
According to the Bible a church is not a building, but a group of Christians meeting together. We are ordinary people from all kinds of backgrounds and of many nationalities, but we have one thing in common – our lives have been changed by the Christian message.
We are a Bible believing, community focused Christian church and our congregation comprises people from many Christian traditions and denominations, united by the Christ centred Bible-based teaching and evangelistic outlook of the church.
This church exists to glorify God, edify believers and multiply disciples of Jesus Christ. Our motto is ‘ Truth, Faith, Compassion and Excellence’: TRUTH – we believe in the Bible as the Word of God; FAITH – in Jesus Christ the Son of God; COMPASSION – for all, regardless of age, race, colour, creed or lifestyle; EXCELLENCE – aiming for excellence in all we do.
We are also committed to church planting and two new churches have been started by teams from Bridge Chapel – Christ Church in Liverpool city centre and Grace Church in Halewood. Former members of Bridge Chapel are also helping to support the work of Speke Baptist Church and Sailors Chapel in the Dingle.
We are affiliated to the following Christian networks: The North West Partnership, The Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) and Affinity, the church-centred partnership for Bible-centred Christianity.
We also have close links with Together For the Harvest (TFH) and the Evangelical Alliance (EA).
