Ministry of Care

The Ministry of Care Team endeavours to emulate in practical ways the love and compassion of Christ by

  • Serving
  • Supporting
  • Encouraging
  • Caring.......for those who come into the Bridge Chapel and Centre, to the glory of God alone.

Why do we care?

As a response to the many and varied needs within our church and community.

Who do we care for?

We attempt to meet the needs of those who come to us… we all need care at some time.

What do we do?

  • Support people in a friendly and informal way
  • Give time, providing a listening ear
  • Pray regularly
  • Show love in sending cards and flowers
  • Encourage and support appropriately
  • Home and hospital visiting
  • Offer a wide range of practical help in response and appropriate to need
  • Network with other agencies or individuals to provide additional help and support
  • Respect ALL confidences at ALL times
  • Encourage and support care within the Small Groups

Where are we?

You can make contact with the Ministry of Care Team by ringing or calling into the Ministry of Care office at the Bridge Chapel Centre.

When are we there?

The Ministry of Care office is open between 9.15am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday.  A 24-hour answer service is also available on (0151) 281 9500.

The Ministry of Care Team

The Ministry of Care is a team of volunteers, all of whom are Bible believing Christian men and women of different ages and backgrounds.

Church Ministries

The following church ministries are the responsibility of the Ministry of Care.

Bridge Tots

An opportunity for toddlers to develop through play, and for parents to mutually support each other. Every Monday and Thursday (term time), 9.30-11.00am.

Young at Heart

A light lunch followed by a time of informal fellowship for those who are more mature but 'young at heart'. Last Thursday of every month, 1.00-3.30pm.

Ministry to Widows and Widowers

Widows and widowers are invited to a special lunch on four occasions each year. Additional social outings are also arranged.

Hear to Listen

A free, caring and confidential listening service. Ring the Hear to Listen office on 0151 494 3333 for further details.

Bereavement support

This includes both pastoral and practical support, in the event of the loss of a loved one.
